 Update... Minimize

Well we did it! An amazing adventure through 10 countries - and almost 1/3rd of the way around the world. We'll try to update this properly soon with stories and photos from the journey - but for now a very quick but huge thank you to everyone that supported us - and to all of you who donated. We raised an amazing amount and are truely grateful to each of you.

News from the team, Sunday 10th August Minimize
Location: BlogsTeam Austin Powered Rally Progress

The team are now at Tosontsengel which is well the right side of Nomrog and is almost exactly half way between their border crossing and Ulan Bataar (the finish line).

Today was really tough, having started at 05:30 and they were still driving as we spoke at 20:00.  However they are pretty much back on track after major delays due to the diversion and some car problems ( 2 for Princess Roo, 1 for Royale and an oil leak for Greg, which was traced to a rip in the plastic spare oil container (Doh!))

Heat has been a problem, everyone feeling the effects, and the delays had begun to cause real worries about meeting the schedule, but today the spirits seem to have taken a huge lift as the miles sped by.

Map postings are quite a problem now because they only rarely find any mobile phone signal and they have rather few valid location codes to use. (There wasn't one for Tosontsengel, or anything near)

We wish them a good night's sleep and similarly good progress tomorrow!
