They are all now at Harhorin and staying at a superb Ger camp - excellent facilities including hot showers. - going to the restaurant shortly, but at present enjoying the view from the camp which is on the hill overlooking Harhorin and Erden Zuu monastry, one of the largest in Mongolia. They all plan to visit this in the morning, before heading onwards with a planned arrival time in UB of lunchtime Thursday. They were speaking very highly of the cars which apparently have absorbed a huge amount of punishment and (Fingers crossed!) are still plugging gamely onwards.
The detour at the start of the Mongolia phase was even larger than we'd realised. They were advised at the border that their planned northern route was unsuitable for cars having been rutted by HGVs and flooded. They went on the southerly route via Olgiy and Hovd, but met a pair of Aussie cyclists there who recommended going north via little Olgiy to Naranbulag and from there they took a good route along the north of the lake as we'd heard. Some adventures! They are sounding in very high spirits!
